Guest room renovation

For us, it was difficult to manage air conditioning to provide comfort during the in-between months, which are mid-March to end of May, and from beginning of November to mid-December.
This is because if we are sending cold water to the two-pipe system, we cannot respond individually to rooms requesting heating, such as "I want to turn on the heater in my room because I am catching a cold".
In the past, we lent out blankets and heating appliances when customers were too cold. And on the other hand, we lent out fans when it was too hot.
On large volume days, we received more than 20 requests from our customers for these appliances.
We tested PAFMAC in 4 rooms the year before the full installation and we collected various data throughout the year.
I had concerns that PAFMAC would continue driving the compressor, but it actually didn’t increase the electric usage rate as much as I had worried, because the compressor would only run to compensate the limitation of the fan coil unit when the guest rooms became hot from the afternoon sun, or when the standard 75 ° F feels too hot and the temperature setting is adjusted by the customer.
After a yearlong evaluation, we decided to install PAFMAC.
Pursuant to guest room renovation plan, we began PAFMAC installation in 2009. Currently, installation have been completed in majority of our 980 rooms and in 2019 every room will be equipped.
As for the 455 rooms in the South Wing, we have completed installation in 3 years (work performed in 2011/2014/2015). We have not received any requests about room temperature since.
We were also able to keep the electric consumption rate lower than expected, which was a concern of our facility management office.
The number of malfunction is far less than we initially thought, only few times a year.
